Court yard garden in Prague - REALIZATION PLANNED FOR SPRING 2018

This little project had been all done through the internet which was quite a chalange, but with all the right measurements and photos it did work out.
The brief was simple - shared area with lawn, terrace, borders and vegetable garden, low maintenance and big impact, contemporary style with new idea which would still go with this old part of Prague.

There were tree designs to start with but this diagonal one had been picked as the best one. It contains lots of space for gardening, enjoying outside space and it optically enlarged the area. It includes raising levels, raised beds for growing vegetable, pergolas for bringing structure and tree for shade.

Formal garden

This formal garden with old house from 16.century was lucking personality and symmentry. Me and my fellow students had been asked to bring some new ideas into the garde, so I have decided to combine formal style with wild parts, bring all the garden on to the grid, make it parallel to the house and create focal points which would lead visitors into different parts of this big space.
Clients wanted garden with lush planting, full looking borders, big terrace for entertaining and they asked for low maintenance.
Because this was one of the collage projects is was not realized at the end.

Cottage garden for WWT Slimbidge design competition - JOINED FIRST PLACE

Design competition for garden by the cottage where Sir Peter Scott was living while establishing WWT Slimbridge had been announced for all students of Cotswold gardening school. The brief described the garden as cottage style planting, low maintenance and including one of the Slimbringe sculptures. The other aim was to make the garden with disability access and spacious enough to accommodate group of 16 people during the tour around the garden.

This design has been inspired by Sir Peter Scott`s love for birds and also by his paintings. The main shapes are based on swans head and wings and colours came from one of his paintings with sunset and flying swans.

Vegetable garden for - HAD BEEN BUILD

My very first real project for great clients, who gave me this opportunity. We have created vegetable garden by using classical potages style with a twist. Than the clients asked for incomporating green house and fruit cage itno the design and each of then had different wish for shapes, one wanted straight lines the other circles.
The garden had been designed begore, so I have used the overall Master lay out plan and incorporated my design the way it fits with it. After speaking to the clients we ended up with symple and clean design usind straight and also curved lines.
The first stage of building had been finished, second should start in summer, to finis gates and fence around the garden.

Contemporary, family garden

Very challenging site with unusual shape and also great slope, so the whole garden has to be split into terraces and lots of retaining styles had been put into design. This is also collage project, so it is not likely to be build, however it shows another different style. There are dry loving plants used in planting, because the site is hot and windy, so those plants are perfect fit and help with maintenance. The garden had been split into sections for entertaining, vegetable growing, there ire places for kids to play and adults to enjoy magnificent wievs from small terrace at the top by the house.
This design is combination of modern style garden with planting inspired by Piet Oudolf. The materials used are slate, gabions and cedar wood. There are fruit trees, permaculture corner includes as well. The whole design is inspired by J.Pollocks painting and also clients` love for straight lines and geometry.

Wildlife friendly garden for WWT

This project was all about recreating a part of WWT Slimbridge into a space which their visitors can enjoy and which could be used as teaching space too. The whole area is very wet with stream all the way through. This area is neighbouring with flamingos run and that is where the ispiration for this garden came from. The design is based on flamingos and shape of their necks. Even the colour of planting had been inspired by them.
The garden includes wide paths, disabled aces and lots of space to sit down, watch birds and there is also kids play ground design included. In a middle of pond is a wooden structure of birds watch with green roof to attract birds closer. For bigger groups and also for teaching about the birds there is a large bird-nest-like terrace with egg-shaped seating with willow tunnels leading towards it. The planting is split into two different types, one is wet loving plants and the other is designed with plants not minding wet however not exactly bog plants.
And because WWTs are all about protection birds and wildlife, that is what is part of the design too, there are bird feeders and bath incorporated, green roofs, Rowan trees and lots of planting to provide habitat for different animals.

Little town cottage garden

The little town cottage garden designed for clients who were looking for some new ideas, they have asked for lawn, planting, studio, terrace, pergola, herb garden, big parking space, wildflower meadow and also pond and possibly not to change that much of the accual garden. It was my firs ever design as part of collage work, however I think it looks actually quite goo, what do you think?
The whole design idea had been inspired by Sir Terry Frost`s painting "Harbor" because he was friend of the clien, so the shapes and colours were based on it. Planting was tuned into blues and purples with a little splash of orange and yellow creating relaxed and calm feeling.
